Digital Brand Expressions’ Impact Pledge
We are an active participant in the movement to make business more ethical, respectful, and considerate.
DBE upholds a safe, supportive company culture where people are taken care of not only as employees, but as whole people. We believe in fair compensation, that good ideas can come from anywhere, and in loving your job with clear health and wellness boundaries. With these sincere beliefs internally laid as foundation, our team can spark positive change externally.
Here is what we’re doing to inspire change:
1. Environmental and Social
- Employee charitable donation-matching up to $500/year per employee.
- We encourage employees to volunteer for community service by enabling them to do some of their volunteer work during regular business hours.
- Each week, we feature social and/or environmental charities in our newsletter’s “Do Good Spotlights” section. See Perceptive Marketer.
- DBE started hybrid working in 2013. When the team shifted to fully remote in 2020, DBE reduced commuting emissions. At the same time, we purposefully decreased reliance on printed materials, shifting to digital documentation. When we made the shift to fully remote, we worked with employees to increase their work/life balance with flexible hours and encouragement to take several breaks throughout the day to walk, do yoga, have a longer lunch, etc. We are actively sharing what we’re learning to help educate other businesses optimize their company cultures for a hybrid-work world.
2. Equality
- DBE is founded and owned by a woman, our CEO, Veronica “Niki” Fielding. Our company is a part of WBENC, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
- Niki has been active in advancing equality for all women in the workplace (and society) as a member of several organizations including Chief, the Women Presidents Organization (WPO), Entreprenista, and WE League. She is also a past board member of Rider University’s Women’s Leadership Council.
- We believe in allyship beyond supporting women. We support a number of organizations that are working to bring diversity and inclusion to the forefront. For example, our clients have included a SaaS company removing bias from the hiring process and another is a pioneer in the DEI space. We regularly support organizations including 10,000 Degrees, Black Girls CODE, the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice, and numerous organizations focused on ensuring children from all backgrounds have healthy head starts in life.
3. A Better Paradigm
-
To help the world create better workplaces, DBE created A Better Paradigm (ABP) in 2024.
-
A Better Paradigm’s website lists resources to help anyone who wants to help their companies become highly profitable, people- and planet-centered businesses.
-
Our CEO, Veronica “Niki” Fielding, creates the weekly Niki’s Notes for Compassionate Workplaces newsletter. In it she shares news, info, data, and tips for people at all levels of organizations to improve the work environment for everyone.
-
The ABP team created the “Kinder Workplace Planner and Reflection Journal” with 52 weekly prompts to help you develop awareness of yourself and others. (It’s free – you should check it out!)
