I hope this week has been great for you. The DBE team is really enjoying our outdoor activities now that the weather is more than cooperating!
Here are the stories we want to share with you in this week’s What’s Hot Wednesday for Marketers:
- Here’s an interesting list of tactics that help improve Instagram performance by Tereza Litsa of CLickZ.
- In a push to relieve itself of bad actors and other miscreants, Twitter purchased Fabula, a London-based machine learning research company. The goal is to use Fabula’s technology to help users feel safer (trolls be gone) and to see info that’s more relevant to them. Stay tuned.
Do Good Spotlight: PetSmart Charities
Are you familiar with this one? PetSmart Charities. They partner with nearly 4,000 nonprofits and governmental entities to support the human-animal bond across the U.S. and Canada. Their services help support animal adoptions, fostering, and more. Both Charity Navigator and Charity Watch give them stellar reviews. If you love an animal, why not share the love with a donation to PetSmart Charities? I do and I did.
- This one is interesting too…according to Ginny Marvin for Search Engine Land, “Google has been quietly rolling out a change to the location targeting options in Google Ads. The change was first spotted in display campaigns, but now appears to have rolled out for search and shopping campaigns, too. Google has changed the ‘People in your targeted locations’ option to ‘People in or regularly in your targeted locations.’”
- Oh wait, one more, one more. Podcasting is growing in popularity and so are the opportunities to advertise in the channel.
I hope this week’s brief was helpful to you. Please let me know if this sparked new thinking and if there’s anything you’d like to talk about with us.
