Lots of good info for marketers as we jump into May:
- Canalys forecasts there will be more smart speakers than tablets in use by 2021. How does this work for marketers? Find out here.
- Pandora released a study conducted with Edison Research and Carat examining what it calls “the co-listening factor” to dig deeper into MAU (multiple active user) factors. Here’s more from eMarketer.
- Who’s eating Google’s lunch? It’s Amazon. Media Post reports brands (consumer brands) are shifting dollars from search (Google, Bing, Yahoo) to “Amazon Sponsored Brands” ads. Based on Q1 2019 research from Merkle’s Digital Marketing Report, Branded keywords accounted for about 25% of Amazon’s Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Product clicks. Google Shopping continues to grow but text ads are losing some of their punch for brands where buying now is the goal.
Do Good Spotlight on: Charity Navigator
We often include Charity Navigator scores for the not-for-profits we feature in our Do Good Spotlight each week. This week, we thought we’d share more about Charity Navigator itself: Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator has become the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. Their professional analysts examine tens of thousands of non-profit financial documents to develop unbiased, objective, numbers-based ratings on over 9,000 of America’s best-known and some lesser known, but worthy, charities. Here’s wishing you a wonderful May!
