Welcome to the latest issue of What’s Hot Wednesday for Marketers.
We found some interesting information to pass along this week including news about Facebook’s plans to integrate its messaging platforms, Google’s plans to offer a 15-second video ad format, and LinkedIn’s new, interest-based ad targeting tool.
Here is what we are buzzing about this week:
Facebook Integrating Messaging Across All Its Apps
Facebook is planning to integrate the messaging services of its various social media platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger. While all three apps will continue to work as stand-alone applications, the underlying messaging infrastructure will be integrated, allowing users to send messages between the apps.

Google Offers Popular Video Format to All Advertisers
Google recently announced that it will make 15-second non-skippable video ads available to all advertisers, not just those buying through the YouTube reservation process and its premium Google Preferred network of top YouTube channels. The 15-second spot is Google’s most popular video ad format and is expected to be available across Google properties, including YouTube, in the coming weeks.

LinkedIn Adds New Tool to Target Interests
LinkedIn is launching a new marketing solution in Campaign Manager called Interest Targeting. The new tool aims to help marketers reach members with relevant ads that match their interests based on the content they share and engage with on the platform. Interest Targeting is an effort to offer brands a more personalized experience and an increase in response rates.
